Belladonna, (Atropa belladonna), also called deadly nightshade, tall bushy herb of the nightshade family (), the source of the crude drug of the same highly poisonous plant is a native of wooded or waste areas in central and southern Eurasia. It grows to about metres (4–5 feet) tall and has dull green leaves, violet or greenish flowers in the axils of the leaves or in the forks. For its gestation period, Deadly Nightshade likes very moist environments, with lots of exposure to sunlight. When it is a full fledged sporophyte, the plant prefers moist soil, and medium shade, although it can grow in full shade or no shade as well. Atropa belladonna doesn't really have a preference as far as soil pH - it can grow in acidic.
